CALL FOR DJ'S FOR H2K2!
We have a space reserved solely for use as the DJ room in the new area,
and several people have already stepped forward to fill the slots available.
The DJ room will open up at 12 noon on July 12th, and close at 6 PM on
July 14th.
Please note that DJ'ing does not grant you free admission to the con.
Slots are for 1 hour segments. You are expected to show up at least 10
minutes before your slot. If you need to have some time to look over the
gear or just get a feel for things, please let us know prior to your slot.
As to time slots, WE will be keeping the time. You are responsible for
synchronizing your timekeeping devices with ours.
This makes it easier to transition. If you are not in the DJ
area by 10 minutes past your slot time, you will be replaced.
This is not just a chance to play for the scene, but a chance for new
people to break out. While slots will be available on a first come first
serve basis, the schedule will be adjusted so that we do not end up with 3-4
hours of the same genre of music. The schedule can and will be adjusted as
needed to cover situations that may arise. Please be cooperative.
We will be providing basic gear: two turntables, a dual CD
player, and mixer. If you have exotic needs, please let us know BEFORE
signing up for a slot to make sure we can take care of you.
Please bring your own headphones, headphone adapters, and all required
cables/power supplies for any personal gear you wish to use.
There will be jacks available for laptops, mp3 players and such - but
PLEASE let us know ahead of time.

There were issues last time with rough treatment of equipment.
The DJ gear being made available is privately owned and on loan.
If you break it, you will be escorted away without question.
Vinyl DJ's are encouraged to bring your own carts. There will be a set on
hand, but you may not like them, etc... We will have a pair of Numark
TT1 turntables.
